Crime 101: Welcome to Heist School
The creative team at Newhouse really outdid themselves this time with their Crime 101: Welcome to Heist School event! The marketing crew hosted social media influencers and creators from all over the world to take part in a heist to promote the critically acclaimed movie thriller “Crime 101”.
The day started with a briefing at the Venice Beach Penthouse where ex-jewel thief, Larry Lawton, taught the attendees how to rob a jewelry store. Then they were notified that the big prize would be to infiltrate Larchmont Jewlers and steal a $12,000 diamond. Of course, before starting on this epic mission, the influencers had to lay down for a 15-minute meditation session so they could be mentally ready to start the heist.
On the way to the jewelry store, we pulled over to Quixote West Hollywood Studios in West Hollywood where the influencers had a surprise meet and greet with Crime 101 stars Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry! Newhouse really did pull out all the stops in this experience for sure! After that, we went over to El Rio Bravo Restaurant to eat some tasty Mexican food. There, we learned how to pickpocket from world-famous sleight-of-hand expert, Apollo Robbins.
And now, the stage is set. We finally made our way to the jewelry store where the world’s most famous Ferrari collector David SK Lee greeted us, and taught the influencers on how to tell a real diamond from a fake one. After that, the heist was done in a special room (with no cameras around), and after the deed was done, only one influencer won the $12,000 diamond, and that lucky lady was Cristina Ibaco
What an epic and fun day we all had, and I can’t wait to see what Newhouse pulls off next!
